Almost everything you earn from content is taxable income: brand fees, ad revenue, affiliate commission, tips, and gifted products received in exchange for coverage, valued at retail.
Register correctly as soon as you earn regularly — self-employed or through a company, depending on your country and level of income. Open a separate business account on day one.
Set aside a fixed percentage of every payment received, and keep invoices, contracts and receipts in one folder per tax year.
Track allowable expenses: equipment, software, a share of home-office costs, travel for shoots, props and professional fees.
